Quilts for Open Pantry Teen Parent Program

On Sunday, April 17, thirty-seven quilts and blankets plus seven hats and a wall hanging, were displayed and blessed during the service.  They are part of Trinity's newest outreach ministry--making and donating quilts and blankets to the Open Pantry Teen Living Program.  This is a residential program for pregnant and parenting teens who are homeless or who find themselves without a safe place to live.    Since the residents of this program are constantly changing, this will be an on-going ministry to give a blanket of his or her own to each child who lives there to take with them when they leave.  Ten Trinity women made this first donation possible.

The quilts and blankets were displayed in the chancel, on the altar, and in the front of the church.

Pastor John based his Children's Message on this ministry by talking about using our gifts and talents, whatever they may be, to make a difference in the lives of others.
